I read a quote today. "I want to be so full of Jesus that when a mosquito bites me, it flys away, singing there is power in the blood."
I know the mosquito is not singing as it flys away. And I know as a believer, we are filled to the full by the Spirit of Christ in us.
The Apostle Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 13:5, "do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you?" Too often, we skim over scripture, not stopping to allow the Holy Spirit to speak to us of the meaning and purpose of the Word in our life.
The reality of this verse is that Jesus, through His Spirit, is dwelling within each believer. It is such an essential point that the Apostle Paul also states the same in 1 Corinthians 3:16, "Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in your midst?"
How does this happen? When we acknowledge Jesus as Lord of our life, inviting Him into our lives, He actually comes to us, to live within us.
When God created man, He created us essentially in three parts. Our physical body, a spirit, and a soul. We see this separation in Romans 8:10.
The Apostle Paul also describes the believer as a vessel that contains the treasure of Christ's Spirit. You can read about it in 2 Corinthians 4:6-7.
It may be surprising to know that God plans to reveal His Son within us. Once we accept Jesus as the Lord of our life, God is pleased to reveal the Spirit of Christ within us. Galatians 1:15-16.
The Apostle Paul also shows us that because we have invited Jesus into our lives, He lives within each believer. Galatians 2:20
One of the more exciting scriptures is Galatians 4:19. While Christ's Spirit immediately enters into the believer, God wants us to allow Christ's Spirit to form within each of us.
The challenge we all have is to allow Christ's Spirit to grow to the fulness of its purpose within each of us. It's not impossible; it can be done; if each of us allows it to happen within us.
Let's be like the mosquito and know that there is power in the blood of Jesus.
