The first thing you will discover is that we are not striving to just be another church in town. We have been called to be His church, the church He planted  on our island city of Alameda.

Our church history humbly starts with families gathering in a home to read the Bible and learn about Jesus Christ. As they grew with more families joining, they moved to bigger homes and eventually rented a building that is still located at corner of Lincoln Ave. and Grand St. When they outgrew that building, they started to rent our current building, eventually buying it, and making it our home since then.

Our mission remains the same, to gather together to worship, learn, and lift up the name of Jesus, so that anyone looking for hope can find His light shinning. We believe that Jesus said He has come to give life and life to the fullest (John 10:10). We invite you to live LIFE with us: Loving God and Others. Investigating God's Word. Fellowshipping Together. Evangelizing Others.

At Calvary Alameda, no matter what season you find yourself in, you will always fit in! Come and discover church in an authentic, genuine, loving environment. Experience it first hand.

A typical service will last about 90 minutes. We sing a good mix of contemporary and traditional music that is led by our worship team. There is childcare available and activities for all age groups. Plan to hang around after the service for fellowship and meeting new people.

It's important to us that you feel welcome when visiting. We hope our atmosphere will help you feel relaxed and comfortable. The music and worship are built around Biblical themes that are timeless. We are glad to have you join us in worship! You will be warmly greeted and welcomed. 

No matter your family dynamics, you're welcome at Calvary Alameda and we're excited for you to consider being a part of our church family! Our intent is to serve the whole family. During our worship service we have care available for infants and children. Your children will receive real spiritually sound teaching from a group of caring leaders during this time. 

From the pulpit you will hear sound preaching. The focus of each sermon is built around the point of the Biblical text being addressed and lifting up the name of Jesus. 

Here at Calvary Alameda, we place a high priority on the preaching and teaching of God's Word. The Sunday Morning Experience is a time for us to come together as a community to learn, be encouraged and to be challenged by God's Word. Other opportunities exist beyond the Sunday Morning Experience where members have a chance to grow, fellowship, or otherwise be a part of a Church family that lives out their faith together.
