Jesus, We Love You

As I sit and listen to the steady rain pouring down from the heavens, I think about how much Jesus pours out His love on us. Although this rain will eventually stop, His love pours down on us steadily without ceasing. His love doesn’t judge whether we deserve it or not and it’s not based on any conditions. He proved His love when He died on the cross, broken for our sins.

Just as He pours down His love like rain, we are so blessed that we can send love right back up to Him. I wish I had the power to send a torrential rain of love to Him. Hey! I can and you can too. Today we are going to stop in the midst of whatever may be doing right now, no matter our circumstances, and let Him know how much we love Him. He deserves heartfelt, deep down incredible love from us. We are not going to utter the words, which take a few seconds and be done. We are going to give Him everything we have in our hearts and souls.

Now I know some of you may not feel like saying those words to anyone today. Perhaps your trials and problems or your fears and disappointments have pulled you down. That is precisely the time you need to pause and love on Jesus. It’s not about how you feel; it’s about Him being there with you in the midst of it all.

Let’s go into that secret place in our hearts that only He has the keys to and where only He resides. You may have to break through some stuff to get there, but I assure you, He is there waiting for you. He loves to hear your voice and to listen to your conversation. It’s okay to start with how you feel right now. He understands and He knows exactly how it is. After all, He came to earth fully human and experienced trials and emotions just like us.

But He was also fully divine and He rose to heaven fully divine with all powers given to Him by the Father. He is the Overcomer, the Victor, Your Defender, Your Waymaker, Your Miracle Worker, Your Counselor, Your Deliverer, the Lifter of your soul. Are you feeling the power of calling out His name and who He is? Now, in humbleness before the King, let your love just pour out of your heart and onto Him whether it’s a song, a word, a gift to someone, your time, whatever your heart desires.

Need an example of pure love? Just before the Passover before Jesus was arrested, a woman came to the home where He was staying carrying an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume. She could have sold it for a year’s worth of wages, but instead, she did the only thing she could to show Jesus how much she loved Him. She broke the jar and poured the perfume over His head. You know what Jesus said? “She has done a beautiful thing to me.” (Mark 4:6) Her love so touched Jesus that He said for as long as the gospel is preached, she will always be remembered.

Break your jar of alabaster over Jesus right now. Show Him what He truly means to you, not just because of what He’s done, but because of who He is. Let your love be like that torrential rain, but never let it end.

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.” Deuteronomy 6:5

Truly my soul finds rest in You; my salvation comes from You. Truly You are my rock and my salvation; You are my fortress, I will never be shaken. Yes, my soul finds rest in You; my hope comes from You. Truly You are my rock and my salvation; You are my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depends on You; You are my mighty rock, my refuge. I trust in You at all times; I pour out my hearts to You, for You are my refuge. I enter Your gates with thanksgiving, Your courts with praise. Jesus, I lift up Your name and pour my love on You. I will sing of Your great love. Declare Your wonderful works in my life. I will dance with joy before You at the thought of Your mercy and grace. My tears of sorrow are now tears of joy. Thank You. I praise You. Amen!
