Thanksgiving Prayer

Thanksgiving is a time for gathering with family and friends to remember how grateful we are. Due to coronavirus, however, we aren’t able to come together the way we have in the past. Although we will celebrate differently this year, the virus shouldn’t stop us from being thankful for what the Lord has done for us. In some ways, the impact of COVID should cause us to reflect even more on the goodness of God.

Prayer

Lord, we come before you, humbly and with love,
Thanking You for this great day
And for Your blessings from heaven above.

Though we stand in need of, a healing touch from You,
We know You’re ever watching
Ready to save us with, an unfailing love so true.

Have we told you lately, how grateful we truly are
For Your grace and mercy,
Showered down on us, like sweet rain from afar?

What a joy to walk in, Your Presence every day.
To feel Your lovingkindness
As You keep our footsteps, on the path called the Way.

Thank You, my sweet Jesus, for life and family.
Thank You for another chance,
An opportunity, to live our lives fully and free.

Thank You for salvation, forgiveness and Your peace.
Thank You for compassion,
Your unrelenting love, Your power will never cease.

We fix our thoughts, our eyes, our souls, our hearts on You.
For You are our One true God.
All praise, all thanks, all blessings, surely belong only to You.

What can we give back to You, for the blessings You’ve poured out?
How can we repay You?
We will worship You with thanksgiving, praise and a great shout! AMEN!
