I'm Going To See My Victory!

Have you ever fought in a war or had to do battle? If you have, thank you for your service. Your goal was to fight for victory. Life can feel like a constant battle with one conflict or problem after another. It takes courage and perseverance to keep rising to the occasion to put down the threat. Some of us feel like we are in a battle right now and we are: health, finances, depression, doubt, anxiety, fear, and more. Your goal too is to fight for victory over your trials.

What we need to remember is the battle is not ours. It belongs to the Lord. How many times have you picked up your sword to fight a battle that you thought was yours? After wearing yourself out, you finally realized that the battle was the Lord’s and you were only supposed to do your part. Sometimes we actually forgot to take Him with us!

Here’s the most exciting point, though. Jesus always has victory, and His victory is our victory. What if we went into every battle with that mindset? What if just before we picked up our sword we said, “I’m going to see my victory because the battle belongs to the Lord and He’s victorious. I belong to the Lord so I will have victory.”

It’s similar to the story of Deborah, the prophetess and judge, in a day when women didn’t hold such roles. God gave her a message for Barak to take 10,000 men to battle against Sisera. She prophesied to Barak that God would deliver Sisera into his hands. Barak, who should have been a great warrior ready for battle, basically told Deborah that he wasn’t going into battle unless she came with him. He didn’t care that she was a woman. What he knew was that God had spoken to her and he had faith that the Lord’s word was true. Needless to say, he did his part and fought the battle knowing the Lord would be victorious. That meant he would be victorious.

It doesn’t matter what hardship you are facing, you will see your victory. There’s a song called “See A Victory” that says it all. Let these lyrics speak to your heart and bring you hope.

“The weapon may be formed, but it won’t prosper
When the darkness falls, it won’t prevail
‘Cause the God I serve knows only how to triumph
My God will never fail.

There’s power in the mighty name of Jesus
Every war He wages He will win
I’m not backing down from any giant
‘Cause I know how this story ends.

I’m gonna see a victory for the battle belongs to the Lord,
You take what the enemy meant for evil and You turn it for good.
Come on and give a shout out of the truth. Lift your voice.

See your victory through the eyes of the Lord. Be of good courage. Fight with your faith.

“He said, ‘Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.’” 2 Chronicles 20:15

“You need not fight this battle. Take up your positions, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out and face them tomorrow, for the Lord is with you!” 2 Chronicles 20:17

Prayer

Father,

Thanks be to You! You give me the victory through my Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus, You are the one who goes with me to fight for me against my enemies to give me victory. From You comes deliverance. May Your blessing be on me. Even if I am prepared for battle, my victory rests with You. You are the Lion of the tribe of Judah; my banner, my shield, my refuge. I sing in the face of disaster because it cannot touch me. I am safe in Your hands and nothing and no one can ever remove from it. Hallelujah! I praise Your holy name, Jesus! Amen!

Sing Out and See A Victory! There is power in the name of Jesus!
