Do You Believe It

Where do you get your information to make life decisions? From the internet, Instagram, Facebook, social media, Tik Tok? It’s amazing the many outlets we have that are easily searched and easy to post information.

I was speaking to a young woman the other day and she began to tell me about a philosophy circulating in her age group that they shouldn’t bring children into this world. She quoted several instances to support why. When asked where she gained her information and she quickly and very innocently told me it was on Tik Tok and other social media. It was gospel to her.

Unfortunately, she is not alone and these outlets are accessed as gospel by all age groups. It caused me to wonder: how did we get to the point where we so easily believe what’s posted on social media? When did that become all truth? What makes anything there valid and true? Many people have followed what they’ve read on these platforms and lost hope. While not all information is false, it needs to be tested.

What if I told you that there is only one place of truth and one person of truth that we can depend on? That place is the Word and that person is Jesus. He is our hope. Nothing and no one in this world can keep all promises spoken, including the promise of an eternal life in heaven with the King of kings. Why is it, then. so easy to believe man’s word, but such a challenge to believe the One who loves us so much, who gave up His life so we could be free.

Jesus has never broken a promise. He has never failed, ever. He has never misled us. He has never given us information or guidance that would harm us. He has never given up on us. He has never bullied us. He is a man of His word! We have the proof not only in the Word, but in our own lives. He loves, He doesn’t hate. He brings peace. He doesn’t use fear. He brings hope and not disillusionment.

Do you believe all things are possible with Him? He can break chains, move mountains and tame the seas of life. Do you believe it? Do you receive it? If He said it, we can believe it. Why? Because He has shown us over and over that He is a man of His word. He keeps His promises, unlike those who post their opinions on social media. If Jesus said it, you can believe it.

Do you really think He will start failing you now? He won’t. He is with you every step of the way, no matter the challenges. The Lord is the God of compassion and mercy, slow to anger and filled with patience. Of this you can be confident—His love is deeper, longer, wider and higher than any love you can imagine. Do you believe it? Really believe it to the point that you will listen for His voice for truth?

You are His wonderful creation, His friend.  Do you believe it? Let this song lift your spirits and bring you hope in Jesus. He is a man of His word.

“God is not human, that He should lie, not a human being, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill?” Numbers 23:19

“The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. Instead He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9

Prayer

Lord,

I watch in hope for You, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me. Set a guard over my mouth, Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips. Do not let my heart be drawn to what is evil so that I take part in wicked deeds along with those who are evildoers; do not let me eat their delicacies. My eyes are fixed on You, Sovereign Lord; in You I take refuge—do not give me over to death. Keep me safe from the traps set by evildoers, from the snares they have laid for me. Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass by in safety. Guide me and lead me with Your truth. Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. I trust in You. Amen!
