Return to the Lord
In so many ways, our lives feel torn and struck down. It’s been a hard road and our hearts are crying out for revival and restoration. The Lord is the only one who can heal our brokenness, our bodies, and our spirits. The earth may be shaking from the pandemic and all of the other issues we may face, but the Lord stands strong, ready and able to pour out His balm over us. Join us this week as we pray for a revival of all things broken. Be encouraged that He will hear our cry.
“Come, let us return to the Lord; for he has torn us, that he may heal us; he has struck us down, and he will bind us up. After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will raise us up, that we may live before him. Let us know; let us press on to know the Lord; his going out is sure as the dawn; he will come to us as the showers, as the spring rains that water the earth.”
— HOSEA 6:1-3 (ESV)
THE PRAYER
Heavenly Father, our nations have been torn. They have been struck by the pandemic. They have been shaken economically, socially, and culturally. You healed Israel of their brokenness in the past. We believe You also have the power to heal our hurting nations. Like Israel, however, we realize we must return to You before the process of restoration and healing can begin.
Lord, we ask for a fresh outpouring of Your Spirit to revive Your Church and transform our nations—as millions turn to You in repentance and faith. True healing begins when the Church returns to You and the nations awaken. With one voice, we cry out in prayer: Heal the ethnic, generational, and religious breaches in our shattered nations. Comfort those who mourn. Refresh and revive the weary, hopeless, and depressed.
Heavenly Father, You promise to bind up those who have been struck down. No matter what has struck us down, You can make us healthy again. Please bind us up and make us whole. Whether it is our marriages, families, finances, careers, or health issues–You have the healing and health we desperately need.
Lord, we cry out for those who have been struck down by depression, health issues, job losses, and relational conflicts. In the name of Your Son, Jesus, we ask You to heal and restore them to full health. We also ask You to comfort those who have suffered the loss of loved ones during the pandemic. Finally, we boldly come before Your throne with this cry: eradicate COVID-19, and heal our planet from its ravages. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
