My World Needs You
The world Jesus was born into wasn’t too different from ours. There was a crisis and a meltdown, both politically and socially. There were revolutionary ideas and great divisions among the people. The Roman Empire ruled over the Jews at this time, and the Jews wanted a Messiah to come and bring order to the chaos.
God didn’t send an army of angels to take over, nor did He send a full grown Jesus to command and demand order. He sent a small, sweet infant both human and divine to save the lost of this world. Little did the people know that the King had come not to right the political wrongs, but to bring hope and salvation for the lost. The world needed Jesus.
We find ourselves in the midst of political divisions and social challenges in the world and in our country. Worst yet, we face a pandemic with its impact too. The noise and clamor is so loud, it’s hard to hear the voices of reason, the message of salvation and forgiveness. Our world needs Jesus.
That cold night in Bethlehem, hope was born and the world will never be the same. Born into humble beginnings, Jesus experienced life just the same as we do, but He brought us truth and the purest example of how to enter into His rest, even here on earth. He knew we would be afraid and have trials. He wanted us to seek Him knowing all of our answers are in Him.
What’s happening in your life right now that you could stand a touch from Jesus? You may be longing to spend the holidays with your family. You may need a new job. You may need a way to pay your rent or your mortgage. You may need the very basics of food and shelter. You may need healing in your body or your mind. You may be thinking right not, “My world needs You, Jesus!”
Call out for His power to fall down right where you are. Let Him bring power that will point you to Him and not to the substitutes the world parades before your eyes. Tell Him about the storms that have torn your heart in two and ask Him to show you the Way. When you call His name, things change and strongholds fall. Let Him be your anchor, your strong tower. Your world needs Him now and He is with you.
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in HIm, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
“But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and He will deliver us again. On Him we have set our hope that He will continue to deliver us.” 2 Corinthians 1:9-10
Prayer
Lord,
You are near to all who call on You, to all who call on You in truth. You fulfills the desires of those who fear You; You hear their cry and save them. You watch over all who love You. I call on You, my God, for You will answer me; turn Your ear to me and hear my prayer. Show me the wonders of Your great love, You who save by Your right hand those who take refuge in You from their foes. Keep me as the apple of Your eye; hide me in the shadow of Your wings from the wicked who are out to destroy me. As for me, it is good to be near You. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge; I will tell of all Your deeds. I have seen You in the sanctuary and beheld Your power and Your glory. Because Your love is better than life, my lips will glorify You. I will praise You as long as I live, and in Your name I will lift up my hands. I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise You. Amen!
